It is July, which means it is time for our annual canned food drive! Summer is one of the most challenging times for food banks–so right now is a good time help us gather canned and other nonperishable food items to contribute to the NeighborImpact Food Bank. Help us fill the big blue bins in our Bend and Redmond offices with food to combat hunger in our community! In past years we have collected nearly 2,500 pounds of food and we’d love to beat that record this year. Please help us spread the word. FUN BONUS: Children 12 and under who donate a food item will receive one free ticket good for a carnival ride at the Deschutes County Fair.
Bluefish will also be collecting canned goods along with our friends from KTVZ at the Deschutes County Fair on Thursday, Aug. 1. On that day only, children 12 and under who bring a canned good to donate will receive FREE ADMISSION TO THE FAIR as well as a FREE CARNIVAL RIDE TICKET. Look for our Bluefish canopy just inside the MAIN entrance to the fair.
Every year at the fair we have fun stacking cans into towers and seeing lots of our patient families and friends. We hope to see you all out there again this year, and thanks in advance for helping us spread the word. Don’t forget sunscreen, especially for the little ones!
A few points to highlight per our agreement with the Fair:
- Offer is for children 12 and under
- One carnival ride ticket per child (regardless of number of cans donated)
- We will be located inside the MAIN entrance at the Fair on Thursday, Aug. 1
